2015 School Board Candidate BriefingThe Education Policy Center has received numerous requests for the information it provided to school board candidates across Colorado this year. One of the Center’s primary goals is to educate local education leaders about important education policy issues, thereby equipping them to make smart, well-informed decisions in their school districts. As part of that effort, Education Policy Center staff provide biennial education policy briefings to all interested school board candidates, regardless of political or philosophical leanings. To ensure that every school board candidate in the state has access to this important policy information, the Center will also mail flash drives containing the materials below to school board candidates throughout Colorado.

While the primary audience for these materials is school board members and candidates, others may also find them valuable. For this reason, the Education Policy Center is making its 2015 school board candidate materials available publicly:

2015 Independence Institute School Board Candidate Briefing Presentation

You can find all of the publications included on the flash drive and more on our Publications page. You can find all the videos included on the flash drive, along with many other Freedom Minutes and video productions, on the IITV YouTube channel.

Our newest video — shown to all briefing attendees — features Michael Alcorn, a 24-year veteran teacher in Jeffco, giving prospective school board members some helpful advice. Check it out for yourself below:
